Hyderabad: 17th June 2022: Gemini Edible & Fats India Pvt Ltd (GEF India) the makers of Freedom Oil as a part of their CSR initiative to support the education of the underprivileged children of the society, donated Rs 85 lakhs to Zilla Parishad High School, Habsiguda, to construct new classrooms and upgrade the infrastructure at the school. The new building was inaugurated by Hon’ble Education Minister, Patlolla Sabitha Indra Reddy, Government of Telangana in the presence of Chief Guest Mr. Chamakura Malla Reddy, Minister of Labour and Employment in Telangana, Mr. Bethi Subhas Reddy, MLA UPPAL, Mr. Katepally Janardhan Reddy, MLC, Mr. Akshay Chowdhry, Group Vice President, Gemini Edibles and Fats India Ltd, Mr. P. Chandra Shekhara Reddy, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Freedom Healthy Cooking Oils along withother dignitaries, school principal, and Teachers.
The ZHPS Habsiguda school building was in a dilapidated condition and unsafe for children. GEF India, when approached, agreed to contribute and help in the construction of new upgraded classrooms in ZPHS, Habsiguda. The newly built classrooms are well ventilated and furnished, equipped with boards, tables, Furniture, etc. creating a conducive and safe environment for the underprivileged students from the community to learn.
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. P. Chandra Shekhara Reddy, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Freedom Healthy Cooking Oils said “The support to ZHPS, Habsiguda as a part of CSR initiative, is our contribution towards the cause of improving the infrastructure at the government schools to encourage education to the underprivileged kids. Education for children is a basic need to build a sustainable community. Zilla Parishad High Schools play a pivotal role in educating children across strata of society. Schools require proper infrastructure to encourage kids to come to school and learn. We are happy to contribute Rs. 85 Lakhs to construct 1 section of ZHPS, Habsiguda with 6 classrooms and 1 staff room.”
GEF India has also undertaken various other CSR initiatives for benefit of the community, women, and child welfare in Telangana. They supported Telangana Police in setting up a ‘Bharosa Centre for Women & Children’ in Warangal. They have also partnered with Akshaya Patra to provide Food delivery vans to serve nutritious mid-day meals to government school children in the state.
