Bengaluru/New Delhi, 5th June 2023: To commemorate World Environment Day on 5th June, Bengaluru based intercity EV bus service, Fresh Bus, is taking a unique and sustainable approach by gifting plant saplings to all Fresh Bus travelers on the Bengaluru-Tirupati route.
Fresh Bus, which is a modern inter-city EV bus service, aims to revolutionize the intercity travel experience by providing eco-friendly transportation options that prioritize passenger comfort, convenience, and environmental sustainability. With a fleet of state-of-the-art electric buses, FreshBus offers a greener alternative for travelers, reducing carbon emissions and contributing to a cleaner, healthier planet.
As part of their commitment to environmental conservation, FreshBus has partnered with local nurseries to distribute plant saplings to all passengers traveling on the Bengaluru-Tirupati route on 5th June. This initiative aligns with the theme of World Environment Day, which emphasizes the importance of ecosystem restoration and sustainable practices.
Sudhakar Reddy Chirra, Founder of Fresh Bus, expressed his enthusiasm for the launch and the green initiative, stating, “At Fresh Bus, we believe in the power of sustainable travel to make a positive impact on the environment. There are nearly 100,000 intercity buses operating in the country, the majority of which are diesel based and are a major source of urban air pollution. A single FreshBus will save over 90,000 liters of diesel and reduce close to 200 tonnes of CO2 emissions in a span of one year. That is equivalent to the effect of almost 10,000 trees on the environment! By giving plant saplings to our travelers, we hope to inspire a sense of responsibility towards nature and encourage greener choices among our passengers. By the end of 2026, we at Fresh Bus expect to save over 4000 hectares of the forest.”
Fresh Bus services are currently available on the Bengaluru-Tirupati route at fares starting Rs.399 per seat. The company will also commence services for the Hyderabad-Vijayawada route later this month. In the next phase, the company will start services on top 100 routes across India covering routes from/to Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Goa, Pune and more. By the end of 2026, Fresh Bus expects to scale to 1000+ electric buses and set up 100+ charging stations pan-India.
