This Series A round included investors India Quotient and Elevation Capital, who had previously invested in the company. Bhanu Pratap Singh Tanwar, Hardik Bansal, and Harshvardhan Chhangani, all IIT Kanpur grads, created FRND.

It’s a one-of-a-kind dating app designed for the next billion people on the planet. It allows young people to communicate with one another via live-streamed formats like FRND Dating and audio games like Raja Rani Chor Police, Voice Match, and other informal games, with a focus on one-on-one meetings. Through a matchmaker, users can connect via audio and start pseudo-anonymous chats.

There is a vast untapped possibility in the Indian romance industry, where youngsters contact and interact with the opposite gender over the internet,” said Bhanu Pratap Singh Tanwar, CEO and co-founder of FRND. We’ve been fighting to provide a safer environment for Indian youth, particularly girls. FRND is the perfect app for these next billion users to have a unique experience in a controlled fashion, thanks to its security measures and cutting-edge algorithms.

We are happy to have been awarded investment from KRAFTON, Inc,” Tanwar said. “With this money, we want to grow FRND beyond the existing ten Indian languages, strengthen our technology ecosystem, and expand our influence both within India and beyond.”

FRND is a one-of-a-kind product that is disrupting an entire market with a one-of-a-kind local solution that will be difficult for multinational corporations to adapt to. We believe this high-volume transaction digital firm has a lot of potentials, and we’re excited to be a part of their growth narrative.

“We are trying to improve the digital environment and will continue to support young and emerging businesses,” Sohn added. The app is currently available on Google Play, and the average user spends about 25 minutes each day using it.
