National Energy Conservation Day is celebrated on December 14 in India, and it is an important day to address energy conservation and the need for sustainable energy.

Energy conservation refers to attempts to guarantee that energy is used efficiently by either using less energy for a constant purpose or decreasing the use of a specific energy-consuming service. Energy conservation is a determined, individual effort that leads to energy efficiency on a macro level. The overall goal of energy conservation is to achieve long-term energy security.

Energy efficiency is the second goal in the energy hierarchy aimed at reaching a stage of sustainable energy, while sustainable energy production is the third priority. Sustainable or renewable energy sources should be used to improve overall energy efficiency.

Overall, a multi-pronged approach is essential to achieve the aim of sustainable energy for a healthier environment. Many European countries are taking a similar approach because energy conservation and renewable energy must work together to reduce the negative consequences of energy consumption and production on the environment.

On the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day, Luminous Power Technologies, an Indian power backup and home electricals firm, launched #FutureInvestmentPlan, a unique campaign motivating everyone to start a simple energy conservation investment plan.

The video conveys the notion that citizens must take responsibility for creating a sustainable future, which can be accomplished easily via a three-step process:

  • Switch off non-essential electronics 
  • Switch off non-essential electronics, replace inefficient appliances with more energy-efficient models
  • use renewable energy sources

Luminous takes pride in creating environmentally friendly products such as solar panels, energy-efficient fans, and LED lighting. According to Ruchika Gupta, Chief Marketing Officer, Luminous Power Technologies, the occasion of Energy Conservation Day provided an opportunity to reaffirm their commitment to educating the community about how one can easily invest in sustainability and contribute to the greater good.

Everything that is conserved now is done in the hopes of benefiting future generations. Sachin Tendulkar, brand ambassador, expressed his delight at being a part of a campaign that promotes awareness about investing in sustainability and how critical it is for a safe future and a better world for our children.
