Tinder, the online dating app, is seeing massive engagement from Gen Z users as many matches between users have been made in the app recently. Many users on the platform have been connecting with those who share common interests and goals.

Tinder reports that 38% of its users are looking for a trustworthy connection, while 36% are looking for someone with a good sense of humour. In addition, 12% of the users are looking for someone who isn’t annoying or atrocious and, 14% of the users are searching for just a mundane date.

These are some of the regular traits Gen Z people are looking for in the app. This generation has a reputation of being unbothered or ignorant towards the betterment of the world but, tinder reports that 41% of the matches are keen on fixing the world and 8% of the app matches make plans to go vegan, which in turn will do good for the environment and the animals. About 39% even vows to reduce the use of plastic.

Users on the dating app have also made resolutions for 2022. Around 49 per cent have decided to resume travelling, and about 31 per cent have decided to head to the gym on day 1 for better health. About 15% of the users are planning to quit junk food and smoking.

When the members were asked about what their long-term plans were for 2022, many of them replied that they were looking for a relationship with someone; a partner in crime. Some replied that they wanted to finish whatever they had started in 2021 and, others stated that they wanted to keep some time for themselves.

From January onwards, the app will let its members choose from a series of goals to help match with the right person who shares the similar selected goals.

The director of communication of Tinder India encouraged the users to refresh and edit their bios and their interest’s column to be more active on the platform so that the profile does not seem dead. She also added that changing the profile picture will also make it active.

Tinder introduces a new concept called Dating Sunday which is the first Sunday of a new year. Dating Sunday is regarded as the busiest day for dating apps. Tinder provides three tips for all users for Dating Sunday.

One is to share all passions and interests and add at least 5-6 pictures in your profile.

Your bio should contain at least 10-12 words.

The second tip is to be online at the right time. 7 pm is regarded as the time when all users are free after a busy day’s work.

The third tip is to video chat with the matched person before going on an in-person date which will help you know more about the person before meeting him/her in real life.
