Together, we can make a significant difference in improving the health outcomes of millions affected by this condition.”

The company had also launched the #TakeChargeAt18 campaign to drive Hypertension awareness and screening of Indian adults above 18 years of age. Glenmark has already reached out to millions of Indian adults through multiple channels and campaigns including its digital platform: www.bpincontrol.in. Hypertension, a prevalent cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factor, affects approximately 35.5% of adults in India1. Alarmingly, CVD is the leading cause of death in the country, responsible for almost one-fourth of all mortality cases.2 India has established a goal of achieving a 25% relative reduction in the prevalence of high blood pressure (BP) among individuals aged 18 years and older by 2025, as part of its efforts to tackle this issue effectively3. Achieving this goal requires a concerted effort to enhance awareness around hypertension, as it serves as a crucial facilitator for encouraging people to proactively manage this condition. Additionally, greater awareness will emphasize the significance of adopting effective management strategies.
