Godrej Protekt personal and home hygiene brand from Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL), has launched a hygiene based safe rail travel project along with Northern Railway zone of the Indian Railways. Through this project, the companies mainly aim to cover both the passengers and the entire railway staff, to boost their hygiene solutions during their rail journeys.
As the world is going through the Covid-19 pandemic, especially a country like India is facing a lot of issues as the second wave of the pandemic has just hit the country like a thunderstorm. In this situation, such a project would be of great relief to the entire country to a certain extend. This program would also guide the people of our country to take appropriate and necessary precautions which is an essential part of their hygiene during such unavoidable train journeys. This will be so helpful to all the migrant works who are heading back to their hometowns due to the strict lockdown initiated by the government and police department.
The program is planned in such a way that they can cover 25 long-distance trains like Jan Shatabdi Special, Bandra Terminus Haridwar Special, Mussoorie Express Festival Special, Chandigarh to Lucknow Festival Special, Dhanbad, Kota Dehradun Special Express, Hemkunt Express Special, Moradabad Saharanpur Express are some among the others. These trains will depart ( starting point) from almost all major cities of our country, this includes Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Barmer, Rishikesh, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Puri, Jabalpur, Ramnagar, Patna, Allahabad, Jaynagar and Moradabad.
According to the program, around 45000+ product of Godrej company would be utilized for this project to drive a vast behavioural change. Godrej Protekt company’s Hand Sanitizer will be distributed to all the passengers, the passenger belongings will be disinfected with Godrej Protekt On-the-go disinfectant spray. They will also provide Godrej Protekt P-W95 reusable Face Mask for all the railway staff who are travelling on duty and to all passengers travelling without a face mask.
While speaking about the program, Mr Sunil Kataria, CEO of GCPL said, “Safety and hygiene are the most important priority of the company for their consumers these days, especially while travelling. Godrej Protekt’s main purpose is to improve concerns regarding their hygiene amongst the consumers and to organize and conduct programs that would help them to spread awareness to maintain a healthy life. In 2020 they already have a successful partnership with the Central Railways”.
Commenting on this new joint venture, Rekha Sharma, Divisional Commercial Manager of Northern Railways said, “We are pleased to have a collaboration with Godrej Protekt Company for this travel – hygiene program. We hope that this program would encourage passengers to travel more via train. We are committed and responsible for the safety, hygiene, health and safety of all the passengers travelling”.
