Goa has been very active in promoting electric vehicles. Proving this is the policy to promote e-mobility in 2021 announced by Goa’s Prime Minister Pramod Sawant.
The purpose of this policy is to encourage and promote the use of electric vehicles and use of battery-powered vehicles in the state by encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles. Interestingly, in subsidies for two-wheeled, three-wheeled, and four-wheeled electric vehicles, Mr Swant found that the state subsidizes 30% of tricycles and 40% of tricycles. Four-wheeled electric vehicles receive a subsidy of up to 30,000 rupees.
To facilitate adoption, Sawant announced that the state is planning to build a charging infrastructure every 25 km on the highway and install charging stations at shorter distances in the city.
