Google unveils a new editor in the Photos App

Google is upgrading its applications to enhance the customer experience. Recently it has launched an AR updated version of the Live View option in Google Maps, a Tone changer to change humming into a musical instrument, and many more to add on. In those lines, it has rolled out a new editor for Google Photos on Android.

The new editor is powered by Machine Learning and it will provide automatic suggestions on a single tap, cleaner interface, and granular controls. Along with suggestions, Google will also make edits on its own in order to enhance the image. After editing it will present the same to the users for further improvement from the user side. Google photos seem to lack in editing, hence most of the users have to rely on third-party applications. But the scenario going to be changed after the arrival of the updated version of Google Photos. The User Interface is redesigned in such a way to enthrall many users to edit their pictures directly in the Google Photos app itself. Android users can avail of this feature now since the updated app has been rolling out on all Android devices.

In the updated Google Photos app, one can find a new tab named “Suggestions”. It actually makes use of machine learning to generate suggestions or recommendations to the users. This feature assists users in tailoring their picture to the best. Further, it will take care of brightness, contrast, and portrait effects on its own making the job easy for users. In addition to these, Google will also be providing suggestions in the areas of Enhancement and Colour Pop. Exclusively for Pixel users, Google is going to come up with improved suggestions in photo types like Landscapes, sunsets, Portrait, etc. Google has announced to launch “Portrait Light” an editing feature exclusively for Pixel users precise to Pixel 4a(5G) and Pixel 5. This feature will utilize machine learning to enhance the lighting on faces. Further, the app allows users to adjust the brightness, light position of the pictures post-capture. Portrait Light can also be applied to regular photos in landscape mode or any other modes unlike portrait one.
