PepsiCo Lay’s chips have released a new spot, made especially for all the dedicated and hardworking Work-From-Home (WFH) folks out there. The spot also unveils Lay’s new package/cover design. The new spot has pushed Lay’s as the chief ‘Work from Home’ snack.
The WFH Lay’s edition comes in a complete range of WAH! AAH! MWAH! and WOAH! Packs. The blue WAH (Work At Home) India’s Magic Masala pack, green AAH (Adda At Home) American Style Cream & Onion Flavour pack, red MWAH (Movie Watching At Home) Spanish Tomato Tango pack, and yellow WOAH (Weekend Outing At Home) Classic Salted pack. Lay’s has also revamped the traditional solid colour package. The new package design has concentric circles with alternating colours, a darker shade and a lighter one of the same colour.
The 30-second spot is set in the backdrop of a classic Work-From-Home setting. The employees glued on to their laptop screens and the boss ranting throughout the whole duration of the online meeting. The spot also showcases the employees donning classic WFH fashion attires formal shirt and tie paired with shorts and slippers.
The ad features actor Ronit Roy playing the role of a rough and bellicose boss. Whether it be work from the office or work from home, there’s always this classic boss figure who won’t let you enjoy the warmth of peace. A quick five-minute break is everything an employee thrives for in the middle of a boring meeting. The newest spot for Lay’s is conceptualized inspired by this unmissable aspect and attempts to push PepsiCo Lay’s potato chips as a chief go-to snack for all the work from home (WFH) folks.
The protagonist, an employee munching on Lay’s realizes that he’s eaten the last bit as his boss announces a short five-minute break. The employee quickly rushes to the nearest store to grab the two new Lays WAH and AAH work-from-home packs. Asking the store vendor to quickly process the order, he says, “Baiya jaldi Lay’s dena paanch minute ka break hai, phir boss paanch ghante keliye pakayega.” He turns to return home for the meeting but is surprised to find his boss standing there. Having overheard the remark, the boss gives a final reminder that the allotted five minutes is about to get over so he better hurry.
The boss also wanted to replenish his empty Lay’s stack to rant for the next five hours in the meeting. The spot titled “Lays Presents The Boss” has a catchy YouTube description that reads, “Spice up your work from home days with the WAH Lay’s. #GharParLaysAlways #LaysAtHome #WorkAtHome.”
