HCG Nagpur Joins Hands with Race Across India to raise breast cancer awareness across the nation

Nagpur, 4th October: In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, HCG Cancer Centre Nagpur partners with Race Across India, an annual cycling event dedicated to raising awareness about breast cancer. Cyclists from across the nation gather in Srinagar to begin the race, which spans multiple cities and concludes in Kanyakumari.

 Four teams of Tiger City Cycling club Nagpur consisting nationwide renowned cyclists will carry the message of breast cancer awareness for 20 days of rally and would gather in Nagpur on 27th October for Mega cyclothon organized by HCG cancer centre, which would be led in presence of more than 400 participants from Nagpur, with an aim to create awareness on breast cancer. A huge number of fitness enthusiasts, philanthropists and people are expected to be part of this social cause. The journey was flagged off by the Chief Guest Dr Amit Samarth- an Internationally acclaimed Cyclist, Dr. Ajay Mehta, Dr. Suchitra Mehta, Dr. Shizan Pervez & Mr. Venkateshwarlu Marapaka in the presence of Participants, consultants & Staff of HCG Cancer Centre Nagpur on 4th October morning.

 Dr. Ajay Mehta, Director & Surgical Oncologist, HCG Cancer Centre said, “HCG Cancer Centre Nagpur has always been at the forefront in encouraging fitness across all age groups and working with the community to promote healthy living. Cycling is a brilliant exercise; it is healthy, environment-friendly and fun way of communicating the importance of fitness. We are happy to provide support to the participants. Such enthusiastic participation shows the intent and commitment to remain in better health”.

 Venkateshwarlu Marapaka, Chief Operating Officer, HCG Cancer Centre said, “The main aim to be a part of this nationwide race is to raise the awareness against breast cancer. We have organized many events in the past and will do so in future. The oldest cyclist from the team is Mr. Vishwas Chatti who is 64-year-old cycling enthusiast. Mr. Dilip Warkad would be the only solo rider to cover 3700 km. The team consists of Dr. Anagha Amblr, Dr Praful Wankhede, Mr. Prashant Deshkar, Ms. Sweety Malik, Mr Dilip Warkad, Mr. Jayant Mendhi, Dr Rajashree Dange, Mr. Mukund Kamath, Mr. Rupesh Meshram, Mr. Kailash Rawandhe, Mr. Prashant Chhati and 8 others. We are looking forward to this event and participation by cyclists, as it marks a collective step toward creating breast cancer awareness and educating people”.
