Holcim gets a new GM of Corporate Communications

The Holcim Group, officially known as Holcim Limited (previously known as LafargeHolcim), is a Swiss global construction materials firm. It operates in around 70 countries and employs approximately 72,000 people. Cement, aggregates, ready-mix concrete, and other goods, such as precast concrete, asphalt, mortar, and other building materials, are Holcim’s four business segments.

The firm was founded as LafargeHolcim with the merger of Holcim and Lafarge on July 10, 2015, which had combined sales of CHF 26.7 billion in 2019. It was listed as the 280th largest public business in the world in the Forbes Global 2000 in 2020.

Holcim Group is a global company that specializes in cement, aggregates, ready mix, and solutions and products. It is a global partner for big infrastructure projects that demand significant expenditures, such as highways, mines, ports, dams, data centres, stadiums, wind farms, or electric power plants.

The company employs over 70,000 people worldwide and generated CHF 26.7 billion in net sales in 2019. The group’s key responsibilities were split between Zurich and Paris until the end of 2018, but are now being moved to Holderbank and Zug in Switzerland. The research facilities of the corporation are located in l’Isle d’Abeau, near Lyon, France.

As General Manager – Corporate Communications, Abhishek Ramkrishna has joined the parent group of Ambuja Cement, Holcim, the world’s largest cement manufacturer, and ACC. He was formerly the Senior Director of Global Communications at Biocon Biologics and the Head of Marketing at Sterling and Wilson for Hybrid & Energy Storage, wind energy, and E-Mobility.

He was also the Head of Corporate Communications at Reliance Power and spent five years with TATA Power in the Brand & Corporate Communications department. He was instrumental in the launch of the ‘First Communication Function’ for the Distribution company there. He began his career as an Assistant Manager – Marketing at RNA Corp. before moving on to Future Group India as an Assistant Manager – Marketing.

He also worked at Microsoft as a Senior Manager of Retail Services. He is a St. Xavier’s College, Xavier Institute of Communications, and MICA graduate. He has a wealth of expertise in establishing corporate, product, and leadership reputations.
