Honda seems to be stepping up in consolidating its 25% market share in the two wheeler segment in India. As earlier reported, the company seems to be doing well in this segment reviving the scooters and also going further in the bikes segment. The company has almost a total portfolio when it comes to 100-110 CC segment in bikes with the launch of their latest model – Honda CD 110 Dream. Now it has four models in this segment – Dream Yuga, Dream Neo, CB Twister and now 110 Dream.
The company expects to increase its sales from 7.3 lakh units to 8 lakh units with this new model in the 100-110 CC segment. They are also planning start its plan in Gujarat and invest around Rs 1000 crores to scale up its manufacturing, distribution and marketing activities across the country. Through this new model the company targets mass segment and rural customers who are looking for an affordable model. Honda CD 110 Dream is their most affordable one with a price tag of around Rs 41,000 only.
The company seems to be an investment spree with their total investments expected to reach Rs 6500 crore by the end of this fiscal year.
