The announcement made by the Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd(HMSI) that, it extends the warranty and free vehicle service benefits till the 31st of July 2021 overall its dealership networks pan-India.
This benefit of extension would be borne by all Honda two-wheeler customers who have their vehicle’s free service, warranty, and extended warranty due to end between 1st April 2021 and 31st May 2021.
The company also said in their statement, “it will support Honda customers facing mobility restrictions in many states and help them to take advantage of these services at a later date before 31st of July 2021 because as we know, lockdown imposed there.
Many of the automobile manufacturers have been announcing an extension of the duration for service and warranty on their products such as Hyundai, Toyota, Tata Motors, and Maruti Suzuki and recently, In two- wheeler, Yamaha was the latest one to include in the last week announcing an extension on advantage relevant to the service and warranty for its customers, till the 30th of June 2021 form the date of expiry.
It also announced the sales figure for April 2021, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India mentioned that the first month of this financial year listed sales of 2,83,045 units of bikes and scooters among these, 2,40,100 two-wheelers were sold in the domestic market. Honda’s April 2021 foreign trade was 42,945 units in comparison to 2,630 units last April. Adding in this, now the company’s foreign trade crossed the 40,000 units mark for the first time in three years. Although we all know the lockdown imposed, there will be no change in the sales of two-wheelers as the automakers offer a fully digital buying experience in the country, including finance option, will also available.
Also, the second wave of COVID-19 adversely affects the several manufacturers who were forced to shut down their production facilities including- Hero MotoCorp, Honda, Royal Enfield, and many more. Hero MotoCorp was freshly the first one to announce reopening at select production plants starting 17th May. While Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India stopped the production activities at its manufacturing plants in several states, till May .15, 2021
