Nov 30, 2012: Honda as part of its strategy of coming out with Diesel cars is all set to set up a diesel engine plant in India. Honda which launched its global compact car ‘Amaze’ in Thailand and all set to do so in India in 2013 will have diesel engines manufactured in Rajasthan. Amaze will be powered by a 1.5 lt i-DTEC diesel engine and will be launched at a very aggressive price in India taking on Maruti DZire and Tata Indigo. This localisation has been aimed by Honda so as to keep a tab on prices. Honda would not be using the diesel engines in their existing models and instead would be focusing on launching new cars with the new diesel engine.
