Honor V40 5G launched, the first post-Huawei phone brings curved OLED display

The Honor V40 5G was eventually released in China. The phone was introduced as the company’s first smartphone since its split from Huawei in November. The model comes with 5G support and also features a strong Dimensity processor.

The handset also comes with an OLED panel curved to the left and right corners. Apart from this, the flagship offering also features a 50-megapixel triple camera system and a 16-megapixel selfie lens. For the time being, the handset has been introduced in China and comes in editions such as Magic Night Black, Titanium Silver, and Rose Gold. The device is available in two models with 8 GB RAM+128 GB storage for 3,599 Yuan and 8 GB RAM+256 GB storage for 3,999 Yuan.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Honor V40 comes with a 6.72-inch OLED screen with a dual punch-hole configuration. The panel is classified to work at Full HD+ resolution and has a 10.7-bit color depth. It can also be refreshed at 120Hz and have a fast 300Hz touch sampling rate. The screen also has an embedded fingerprint reader. The specification reveals that the V40 5G offers a screen-to-body ratio of 92.3 percent. The Honor V40 5G arrives with a glass back on the back. The handset weighs 186 grams and has a slender 8.04 mm profile. The device comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ 5G chipset under the hood. This was coupled to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.1 128GB/256GB ram. Because of the onboard chipset, it comes with support for the GPU Turbo X Graphic Acceleration Engine and Hunter Boost for a better gameplay experience.

The cameras are fitted with a 50-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, laser autofocus, and an LED light. The rear cameras provide features such as front/back dual-scene photography, AI RAW super portrait engine, handheld super night scene mode, 4K HDR timelapse photography, and super slow-motion video recording. There is a 16-megapixel main camera on the front and a ToF (Time-of-Flight) lens for depth estimation. Holding the lights on the unit is a 4.200mAh battery that provides support for 66W of superfast wired charging. Support for 50W fast wireless charging is also available.
