August 12, 2014: Hyundai, the second largest car maker in India launched a new hatchback Elite i20 on Monday. Launched at a starting price of Rs.4.89 lakh, the car is powered by a 1.2 VTVT Kappa and a 2nd generation 1.4 CRDi engine. The new Elite i20 which has got a ground clearance of 170mn is based on the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 philiosophy. The second generation i20 gets a more masculine look with a bold large hexagonal front grill. Hyundai Elite i20 has got a elongated swept back head lamps which makes it even the more appealing. The other features of the car include:
- wide and distinctive trapezoidal fog lamps
- sporty black C pillar block
- wide 3 step wrap around tail lamps
- 5 speed transmission for petrol and
- 6 speed manual transmission for diesel
83PS of power and 11.7 kg.m of torque for petrol verison - 90 PS of power and 22.4 kg.m of torque for diesel version
The interior of Elite i20 black and beige toned dash and seats gives it a premium look. The other interior features of Hyundai Elite i20 include:

The Petrol version of the car starts at a price of Rs.4.8 lakhs for the Era model and boasts of a fuel economy of 18.60kmpl. The diesel model which starts with Era model gives a fuel economy of 22.54 kmpl and the prices starts at Rs.6.09 lakhs. The top end model of petrol Elite i20 Asta is priced at Rs.6.46 lakhs and diesel Asta is priced at Rs.7.66 lakhs.
