Hyundai launches the all-new i20

On Thursday, Hyundai Motor India unveiled its latest i20 at an introductory price of Rs 6.80 lakh ( ex-showroom, India). The latest Hyundai i20 price is up to Rs 11.18 lakh ( ex-showroom, India) for the top-spec trim.

Based on global design language ‘Sensuous Sportiness, from Hyundai, the latest Hyundai i20 features a range of first-and top-of-the-line segment features and 50-featured Bluelink connectivity technology. In addition to the latest i20, the automaker has also launched vehicles such as Hyundai Venue iMT, Hyundai Creta, Hyundai Aura, Hyundai Tucson, and Hyundai Verna this year.

Three powertrain options are offered for the new Hyundai i20. There is a 1.2-liter Kappa petrol engine with a 5-speed MT and 88PS with an IVT automatic and 115Nm producing 83PS. The 1.0-liter Kappa turbo-GDi petrol engine has 7-speed automatic DCT and 6-speed iMT options and belts of 120PS and 172Nm. A 1.5-liter U2 CRDi diesel mill generating 100PS and 240Nm is also available and is only offered with a 6-speed MT. There are four models available for the new Hyundai i20 — Magna, Sportz, Asta, and Asta(O).

What Hyundai calls a parametric jewel pattern grille comes with the latest i20. Headlamps flank it for LED projectors with LED DRLs. Segment-best projector fog lamps with air curtains are also provided to the front. There are Z-Shaped LED tail lamps on the back of the premium hatchback connected by a chrome garnish. The i20 logo can be found on both the headlamps and tail lamps. With features such as 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, black side sill garnish with the i20 emblem, and chrome beltline, the new i20 looks very sporty from the sides, improving the design quotient. It gets a shark fin antenna as well.

Features such as the 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, multifunction steering wheel, blue ambient lighting, and electric sunroof are loaded into the new Hyundai cabin i20. The optical cluster with TFT multi-information monitor, Bose seven-speaker sound system, wireless charger with a cooling pad, and sliding front arm are among the segment’s best features in the new i20.

Multi-phone Bluetooth networking, iMT, Oxyboost air purifier with oxygen and AQI, OTA map updates, eco coating,  hill assist control, emergency stop signal, and TPMS are the segment-first features in the latest Hyundai i20.
