The South Korea based car manufacturer Hyundai Motor India is planning to advance the launch of the highly anticipated compact SUV Creta by two months. It seems like this early launch of the vehicle will take the benefit of the latent demand for the new product from the festive season.

Hyundai will be announcing the Creta compact SUV on July 21, 2015 and the production of the vehicle will debut in a fortnight that is from June 20, 2015. This is a good two months ahead of the plan framed by the firm. Hyundai Motor India has already realigned its production plans to make way for the upcoming compact SUV.

The Creta is expected to be priced somewhere between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 12 lakh. It will be launched in both diesel and petrol engine options and there will be an automatic transmission model as well. This way, the Creta will be the first vehicle in the segment to provide an automatic choice.

This move from Hyundai will definitely take advantage of the festive season all over the country starting from Onam to Baisakhi, claimed a person familiar with the subject. The Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Hyundai Motor India, Rakesh Srivastava confirmed the development and stated that it is a conscious change in the strategy from the firm. He added that it has been proved to be successful to advance the launch of a vehicle. The firm is expecting results as in the Grand i10 last year.

Creta will measure 4.2 meters in length and it will be pitted against the best sellers such as Nissan Terrano, Mahindra Scorpio and Renault Duster. The mid sized compact SUV market segment has witnessed a decline of 6 percent and it averages to 11,200 units.

Creta is one of the prime pillars for Hyundai Motor India’s objective of reaching 14 percent growth this year. The firm is aiming to sell 4,65,000 units in the country. In the last year, Hyundai Motor India grew by 7.5 percent at 4.11 lakh units.
