The International Advertising Association has affirmed October 3rd to be observed as the World Marketing and Communications Day every year.
The initiative was launched to acknowledge the vast expertise and efforts of digital marketers, advertisers, and other professionals.
To inaugurate the occasion, IAA has set in action a campaign “Bring Compassion Back” which motivates individuals to perform generosity. It is also aiming at recognising efforts of the people who have directly or indirectly contributed towards the Pandemic and helped to fight against COVID19. The trending hashtags for the manoeuvre are #BringBackCompassion and #IAACares.
The International Advertising Association (IAA) is a global organisation that represents advertisers, ad agencies, and media outlets. It has chapters in 77 countries and is headquartered in New York, USA.
The Export Advertising Association was formed on April 8, 1938, in the Harvard Club of New York, by Thomas Ashwell, a publisher of “Export Trade & Shipper” publications, and 12 other advertising industry executives. Their objective was to share information about effective worldwide advertising methods. It was given its current name in 1954.
The digital advertising journey has been brief but intensive. Technological advancements have been a significant element in the fast development of digital advertising over the last 25 years. Digital advertising has travelled a long road to provide the appropriate information to the right potential consumer at the right moment, from banner advertisements to artificial intelligence.
IAA has put forward this campaign to award the hands behind this advancement. Its goal is to honour all of these folks in the background by giving them a day of appreciation.
Sasan Saeidi, Senior Vice President at IAA, said, “There has never been a better important time for us to make sure our marketing and communication is healing divides, healing hearts, and bringing the entire world together. This is where purposeful communication comes to stage”.
Dagmara Szulce, IAA’s Managing Director, said, “Consumers are moving faster than our industry valuable brands focused on sustainability, community, and governance. It’s time to accelerate progress on our side of the table and create a behavioural and visible change for good.”
The World Marketing and Communications Day will be observed on 3rd October every year. The prime areas of attention will be declared by IAA.
