ICRI School of Clinical Research and Healthcare and Max Hospital Collaborate to Offer Innovative PGDACR Program
In a landmark collaboration aimed at bridging the gap between academic excellence and industry demands, Max Healthcare and ICRI – School of Clinical Research and Healthcare have announced their partnership to introduce the Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Research (PGDACR) program. The PGDACR program is designed to equip students with comprehensive education and practical training in the field of clinical research. With a duration of 10 months, the program combines theoretical instruction and hands-on experience to ensure students are well-prepared for careers in clinical research.
The PGDACR program is structured to provide a comprehensive learning experience over a duration of 10 months. Divided into two distinct phases, the program begins with a rigorous theoretical phase spanning the initial six months. During this period, students receive theoretical instruction at the state-of-the-art Max Healthcare facility located in Saket, Delhi. Following the theory phase, the program transitions into a practical phase, comprising four months of hands-on training. This practical training takes place at multiple Max Hospital facilities situated across the Delhi NCR region, allowing students to apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world clinical settings.
Program Highlights:
  1. Training by Leading Doctors: Students get trained by leading doctors, gaining unparalleled insights from top professionals in the field.
  2. Exposure to Clinical Trials: The program provides exposure to how clinical trials are conducted, equipping students with essential practical skills.
  3. Unique Industry Partnerships: ICRI is the only institution offering such practical programs through exclusive industry partnerships.
  4. Employment Opportunities: Max Hospital, being one of the leading hospitals in the country, offers students the chance to be absorbed into hospital roles post-graduation.
  5. Learning in a Hospital Environment: Students will have the opportunity to learn in a hospital environment, which is their prospective employer.
  6. Certification: The certification is industry-vetted and NSDC approved, ensuring high standards and recognition.
  7. Software Training: Students also gain exposure to clinical research software, enhancing job opportunities in clinical data management and pharmacovigilance.
The global clinical trials market size was estimated at over $50 billion in 2022 and is expected to reach $84.43 billion by 2030, with a CAGR of 5.7% from 2022 to 2030. The market’s growth was further driven by the COVID-19 pandemic, underscoring India’s potential as a hub for clinical trials. The country’s large patient pool highlights the growing demand for treatments and immunizations. Currently, 288 medicines and 106 vaccines are in various stages of development, with significant percentages in different phases of clinical trials.
India’s regulatory framework, now aligned with U.S. FDA norms, makes it an attractive destination for global clinical trials. The Indian clinical trials market is projected to reach $3.15 billion by 2025, growing at a CAGR of 8.7%. With the industry requiring around 50,000 clinical research professionals, this collaboration between ICRI and Max Hospital aims to address this demand by producing well-trained graduates ready to contribute to the booming industry.
Max Hospital provides essential physical infrastructure for the program, including well-equipped classrooms, projectors, smartboards, and more. ICRI contributes by developing and delivering the curriculum and ensuring the availability of qualified faculty and trainers. As participants in the PGDACR program, students will receive a robust education that seamlessly integrates theoretical knowledge with practical experience. This collaboration ensures that graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of the clinical research field. Additionally, ICRI’s commitment to student success includes dedicated placement services to facilitate smooth transitions into relevant corporate roles.
