INDIA, 13 February 2025 – In a tribute to the enduring India-Singapore partnership, IIM Alumni SG has unveiled a refreshed brand identity, symbolising its deep-rooted heritage and its evolving role as a bridge between the two nations.
The Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) are premier business schools in India, offering postgraduate and doctoral programmes in management. Renowned for academic excellence, IIMs have produced top business leaders providing strong faculty, research, and industry connections.
This announcement comes at a momentous time, as India and Singapore celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations. The refreshed logo, which features Singapore’s iconic “Red Dot” encircled by stylised DNA strands in the colours of the Indian flag, represents the integration of IIM alumni within Singapore’s dynamic landscape while retaining strong Indian roots. It also highlights the alumni network’s role in fostering collaboration between government bodies, businesses, and the wider community in both countries.
The new logo reflects not just the organization’s growth, but also the thriving Indian diaspora in Singapore, which has played a key role in strengthening economic, cultural, and institutional ties over the past six decades. The IIM Committee unveiled the new logo to commemorate 60 years of diplomatic ties and reaffirm our commitment to fostering strong collaborations.
The President of IIM Alumni SG, Mr Suresh V Shankar said “As the largest IIM alumni group outside India, we take immense pride in being a catalyst for deeper engagement between the two economies, contributing expertise across industries and strengthening community ties. Representing a robust 3,000-strong professional community, we have long served as a platform for knowledge exchange, business networking, and policy engagement. Over the years, the alumni association has played a key role in facilitating strategic partnerships across sectors such as finance, technology, and entrepreneurship.”
Ms Manisha Seewal, Media & Communications Lead at IIM Alumni Singapore, added “The new logo will be rolled out across all platforms, including the association’s website, social media channels, and upcoming events.”
In November 2024, the IIM alumni SG underscored by its role by co-hosting the INSPire Forum at the prestigious Singapore Fintech Festival 2024. The pioneering initiative, in association with the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN), (a not-for-profit organization established by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), aims to strengthen India-Singapore economic ties. Featuring thought leaders and industry experts, INSPire addressed critical themes such as India’s renewable energy transition, digital open commerce, population-scale skilling, and investment opportunities in India’s rapidly expanding economy.
In May 2024, before stepping down as head of the government, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong told Channel News Asia in a wide-ranging interview that “The IITs and the IIMs are the top institutions in India and securing a place in them is comparable to getting into the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, or Harvard University. If I can get such a pool, come here and work here, it is a tremendous plus for us”.
