Varun Tej speaking on Virat Kohli surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s record, he said- “We are all rooting for it. Not just me, but every Indian, every cricket lover is. It’s just not a very new thing, we’ve known Virat Kohli is on the road to beat or equal Sachin Tendulkar’s tally of ODI hundreds. So, I think we are very excited, and I’m a hundred percent sure that he’s going to equal the record and probably surpass it too. I mean definitely having someone Virat Kohli lead us from a long time and having such a player like him on a team is definitely a big strength for the entire team, especially for the youngsters and all of that. You see Virat and Rohit, they are super big examples for the younger generations in the cricket team, and it’s very good that they get to play with such experience cricketers, and I think it’s an amazing thing.”
Picking a team to be the biggest threat to India in this WC Varun Tej said – “So far I was really stunned to see South Africa’s performance and they have always been my second favourite team. I think they might be a threat to India.”
Speaking exclusively to Star Sports Telugu superstar Varun Tej discussed Team India’s chances of lifting the trophy this World Cup, he said – “All have been excellent in form. Specially we haven’t lost a game so far and I think our batsmen, bowlers, everyone are in good form and the other thing is that the momentum is good, and unlike the previous World Cup which was a disappointment for us. I think this time it is going to change and the comeback is going to be super strong. It’s a wish of every Indian, and we will bring the World Cup home this time.”
