Ather Energy, India’s largest electric scooter maker, today announced a multi-year relationship with the Gujarat Titans, a newly founded Indian Premier League (IPL) Ahmedabad club.
The Ather Energy brand will appear on the front of the Gujarat Titans’ official team shirts beginning this season as part of the strategic agreement.
Ather Energy is India’s largest electric 2-wheeler producer, well known for its 450X and 450 Plus electric scooters.
Ather Energy, founded in 2013 by two young IIT Madras alumni, Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain, has been at the vanguard of India’s EV revolution.
Strong demand for electric scooters in the country has boosted sales. Over the last year, Ather Energy has experienced a 20 percent month-on-month increase in sales.
Ather Energy is extending its retail presence across the country to meet rising demand.
The company currently operates 30 experience centres (retail shops) across India, with plans to expand to 150 experience centres in 100 cities by March 2023.
In the extremely competitive car business, Ather Energy, a new age and fast-growing brand, is battling major manufacturers across the country. The Gujarat Titans, a youthful squad trying to challenge the IPL’s major teams, understand this.
Ather Energy hopes to establish a large fan base across the country and accelerate the adoption of smart and intelligent EV scooters through this strategic cooperation with Gujarat Titans.
Our shared ideals of fearlessness and positivism, as well as a desire to make a difference in our extremely competitive workplaces, unite us as relative newbies in our respective industries.
Ather is rapidly spreading across the country, with a presence in 24 cities and plans to expand to over 100 in the following year. As we grow our geographic presence, IPL’s scale and reach give a terrific platform for us to quickly create brand awareness and familiarity across the country.
Beyond reach, the IPL has the distinct advantage of being a sporting event that appeals to people of all ages and genders, involving the entire family.
This allows us to reach a wider audience with our scooters and expedite the adoption of electric vehicles across the country.” The Gujarat Titans will make their IPL debut in the 15th season, paying homage to the state’s rich cricketing history, which has produced a slew of Indian international cricket heroes throughout the years.
The potential to represent and build on this profound cricketing tradition, as well as build on the franchise’s future success on the field, has inspired the franchise.
