The 20-screen Xstream multiplex will be an extension of Airtel’s Xstream Premium offering.
The platform will make use of Airtel’s content library and will provide multiple levels of engagement, allowing users to interact on the PartyNite Metaverse.
The idea was developed by Gamitronics, the parent company of PartyNite, according to the company.
Bharti Airtel, India’s leading provider of communication solutions, has unveiled India’s first multiplex on the Partynite Metaverse platform. The Xstream multiplex is an extension of Airtel’s Xstream Premium offering, which recently passed the 2-million subscriber mark just 100 days after its launch. Airtel’s Xstream multiplex will have 20 screens and access to content portfolios from leading OTT partners via the application.
In addition to English and Hindi, the multiplex will allow sampling of top original shows and movies with content pieces such as the first episode of an OTT original or the first minutes of a movie in regional languages. Viewers can gain full access after subscribing to a plan.
The Xstream multiplex provides an immersive content experience with multiple engagement layers, allowing users to interact with the Partynite Metaverse. The concept was developed by Gamitronics, the creator of Partynite, a blockchain-powered digital parallel universe, and conceived by Essence, Airtel’s integrated media agency of record.
“Airtel’s Xstream multiplex delivers a larger-than-life experience, combining Web 3.0 apps and immersive storytelling,” said Shashwat Sharma, Director – Marketing, Airtel, of the Airtel Xstream multiplex on Partynite Metaverse, as well as an assortment of content from our partners.” Everyone in India enjoys movies and other forms of entertainment. We hope to reach a larger audience through the metaverse, giving content enthusiasts a chance to try Airtel’s Xstream Premium offering and thus aiding in driving higher adoption.”
“We are thrilled to be collaborating with Airtel to bring India’s first metaverse multiplex to life,” said Rajat Ojha, Founder of Partynite (Gamitronics), of the multiplex’s launch. The multiplex experience provided by Airtel Xstream Premium is one of the most scalable use case scenarios for the metaverse. Future opportunities include streaming movies, music, live events, and premium sports. Aside from the broad scope, it will enable social engagement, newer methods of content delivery, and, of course, an immersive experience at its core.”
Bharti Airtel was trading at Rs681.65 per share on the BSE at around 1:25 PM on Tuesday, up Rs10.45 or 1.56 percent from its previous close of Rs671.20 per share.
