- City’s quest for the “number one school in sports” begins with a spirited showcase on Day 1
Bengaluru, January 16th, 2024: Sports For All (SFA), India’s largest tech-enabled multi-sports school competition platform, today commenced with Bengaluru’s inaugural edition of the SFA Championships. With record participation of athletes across the state, SFA Championships aims to unveil the city’s best sporting talent, discover the ‘number one school in sports’, and enable a platform for future champions to compete on a professional platform.
Held at the Sports Authority of India Netaji Subhas Southern Centre, the venue’s state-of-the-art infrastructure served as an ideal setting for athletes to showcase their skills, on day 1 of the SFA Championships. The impressive showcase of athleticism took center stage, highlighting the talent and determination of young athletes across categories U-14 to U-18. The Championships engaged both boys and girls, featuring a remarkable participation, with more than 500 athletes, on day 1. The competition witnessed sporting categories such as the long jump, high jump, shotput, races in 2000mtrs and 800mtrs, sprints in 100mtrs and 400mtrs,
SFA Championships is enabling an opportunity for youth to unleash their fullest potential through joyful and inspiring sporting experiences. These Championships are revolutionising the way school sports are experienced in India, giving school athletes first ever exposure to multi-sports. Resonating with this thought on the Athletics track, Siddhani Singh from Vahe Global Interschool (in the U-16 category), spoke about playing multi-sports. “Today at the SFA Championships I participated in the 100 metres race and it was an interesting start. I have been playing sports since I was 8years old and have played basketball, football, athletics – enjoying the diverse experiences each sport brings. One of my proud moments was competing at my first State regionals meet. Am looking forward to playing and competing as much as possible”.
