Indian Air Force launches nation’s first 3D mobile game

July 4, 2014: Indian Air Force in a bid to attract the next generation youth to pursue a career in air force today launched the nation’s first 3D mobile game. The 3D mobile game ‘Guardians of the Skies’ GOTS was launched by Air Marshal S Sukumar who is also the Officer-in-charge Personnel. He termed the event as a significant milestone in the history of defence forces in India and said that this step would definitely help to tap the best of the human resources from the new generation.

Air Marshal, S Sukumar was quoted as saying, “It is indeed a significant milestone in our consorted campaign to connect to the best of the boys and the girls among the nation’s youth and motivate them to join the air force so as to become great patriotic men and women ready to serve the country in any situation.”He further added that “We are getting the numbers, but we want to attract the best of the boys and the girls to join the Air Force.”

GOTS is available freely on Android, Windows and iOS platforms and offers gripping air combat scenarios and realistic graphics. This 3D game which has been developed by using the information available about IAF in the public domain is targeted at the youth and would give a feel of excitement which the Air Force Personal experience in their everyday lives. The game has been developed by a private vendor after an open tendering process was done. The next phase of the game is scheduled to be launched in October.

The game features a storyline in which there is a politically and economically unstable country called ‘Zarurzia’. This country has also witnessed a military coup and the IAF is engaged in defence missions to safeguard the assets of the home country.
