Chennai, 06.07.2023: Special SLBC was conducted on 05.07.2023 under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Minister of Finance and Human Resource Management, Thiru Thangam Thennarasu at Conference hall, Secretariat, Chennai convened and co-chaired by chairman, SLBC and MD & CEO of Indian Overseas Bank, Thiru Ajay Kumar Srivatsava.
Chief Secretary, Thiru Shiv Das Meena, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to Hon’ble CM, Thiru N Muruganandam IAS., Principal Secretary to Government, Finance Department Thiru T. Udhayachandran IAS., and other Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries of various departments and senior officials from member banks and RRB participated in the meeting.
38 District Collectors, along with the Lead District Managers, attended the meeting virtually. The meeting was conducted to review the performance of banks vis-à-vis districts in the state under lending to the priority sector and various government sponsored schemes as of 31.03.2023 and also up 31.05.2023. The performance of banks up to 31.03.2023 was also reviewed in comparison with that of Other States.
In the meeting, the banks and district collectors were advised to achieve the targets allotted under various sectors viz., Rs.7,00,033 crore under Priority Sector, Rs. 30000 crore under SHG and Rs. 7500 crore under TNULM.
Member Banks were also impressed upon to improve sanctions under Education Loans also.
