The cheapest smartphone market segment is getting many launches one by one. The most recent one is the launch of an Android based smartphone which is touted as India’s cheapest Android smartphone that carries a price tag of Rs 888. Named Docoss X1, this smartphone has been launched by Docoss, a Jaipur based company. Unlike the Freedom 251 that created a lot of buzz, this one has made a silent entry into the market.

The company has established a website lately and it has started accepting pre-orders for the device with an assured delivery date of May 2. The company also provides cash on delivery option to the customers.

The Docoss website requests the buyers to book the Docoss X1 smartphone through an SMS. On the social media handles, the company has asked the buyers not to call on the number that is given to send the SMS.

Not much information about the manufacturer Docoss is given on the company’s official website. It seems like the company is too reserved about its brand as well as product as it tries to gain the confidence of the consumers by providing cash on delivery payment option.

The Docoss X1 smartphone is likely to come with a 4 inch display and employ a dual core Cortex A7 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz teamed up with 1 GB of RAM. It packs 4 GB of native storage space that can be expanded up to 32 GB. Running on Android KitKat, the device comes with a 2 MP main camera at its back and a VGA front facer. It is a dual SIM smartphone with 3G support on both the cards. It is fueled by a 1,300 mAh battery.

Though things sound very cheap, we need wait to when this device will be delivered to the ordered customers. Also, its success in the Indian market has to be seen.
