Neetan Chopra has been named Chief Digital & Information Officer by InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo) (CDIO).
With effect from January 3, 2022, he will join IndiGo. Neetan, who has more than 25 years of expertise, will fill this newly established position.
Neetan is presently the “group chief technology officer” at Dubai Holding and formerly worked at Emirates as a Senior Vice President of Information Technology and Innovation. Neetan started his career at Accenture Consulting in India in early 1992 before moving to the UAE and joining Emirates as a Senior IT Manager in 1995. From there, he steadily rose through the ranks at Emirates before departing in 2018 to join Dubai Holding as Group CTO.
The newly created job of Chief Digital Officer (CDIO) will provide vision and direction for creating and implementing information technology and digitalization projects as part of IndiGo’s overall business strategy.
Neetan will lead IndiGo’s digitization efforts to increase cost-effectiveness, service quality, customer-centricity, and analytical capabilities, as well as promote the co-creation of new digital business models with both internal and external partners and the larger technology-driven environment.
Neetan will be in charge of all areas of IndiGo’s information technology and systems, as well as its procedures and structure, with a particular focus on attracting, retaining, and developing critical IT and digital talent.
Ronojoy Dutta, IndiGo’s whole-time director, and the chief executive officer said that with IT, Technology, and Digital becoming more and more strategic to the company, along with the fact that there will be an enormous focus in terms of innovation and driving digitalization, they have decided to combine the two organizations under the common leadership of a Chief Digital & Information Officer.
He further added that they are ecstatic that Neetan Chopra has decided to join the team. His significant airline experience in technology and digital disruption will be invaluable for the company’s future.
