Feb 27, 2013: Jaguar Land Rover owned by Tata motors launched their luxury sedan Jaguar XJ Ultimate in India. The new Jaguar XJ Ultimate priced at Rs.1.88 crore (ex-showroom, Mumbai) will be available in Jaguar’s existing 5.0 litre V8 supercharged petrol engine. The car will also be available with 3.0 litre V6 turbocharged diesel engine. Jaguar XJ Ultimate has been designed on the long-wheelbase XJ and it has got an eight speed transmission.
The company in a statement has said that the car’s ultimate focus is on the rear passenger comfort and it is designed to give a fully luxury business class experience to the global customers. Jaguar with the launch of this new luxury sedan is trying to increase sales in India. The brand which has reported 32 per cent growth in 2012 by selling 2393 cars in 2012 compared to 1813 units in 2011 has also plans to start assembling of Jaguar XF variant in India. With this move the company would be able to bring down the price of this car by Rs.12 lakh.
