Mumbai/Bengaluru, 31st October, 2024: Jindal Stainless, one of the largest stainless steel manufacturers in India, has launched a new video on Diwali, urging people to #SwitchToStainless for a cleaner celebration. At 9.3 million tonnes, India is now the largest plastic polluter in the world (report by Global Plastics Treaty). With this video, the company joins the fight against plastic pollution, a global menace, by encouraging use of sustainable, reusable, and long-living materials.
With a tongue-in-cheek spirit, the quirky video depicts the excessive plastic waste generated during the festive season. With striking visuals and a compelling message, the Diwali video showcases instances where stainless steel can be seamlessly integrated into festivities and celebration.

At Jindal Stainless, our vision is to create a greener tomorrow, and this video is a small effort of our larger commitment to driving sustainable choices. We envision Diwali to be a celebration of not just light, but also conscious living, ensuring a cleaner, greener future for generations to come.”
Speaking about the movie, Gaurav Arora, Co-Founder, Social Panga said, “Diwali is a time of joy, light, and togetherness, but it’s also an opportunity for us to reflect on the impact our choices have on the environment. We have been building the #SwitchToStainless narrative with Jindal Stainless for a while now, nudging people to choose sustainably, without compromising on style or quality. With this concept for the Diwali film, the team aimed to capture this ethos in an imaginative way that speaks to audiences and brings about real change”
