Jio forays into live game streaming

Reliance With a new feature called Jio Games Watch in the Jio Games app, which is accessible on set-top boxes, Android devices, and Apple iPhones, Jio has begun live game broadcasting. Creators will have access to viewer engagement tools on the new platform, including emotes and audience polls. Creators can interact with viewers through e-sports events while streaming in full HD and HD resolutions.

Reliance Jio has been increasing its gaming presence. It partnered with the skill-based gaming service Zupee in January, and in May it unveiled a wireless game controller for TVs and Jio set-top boxes. In India, the live game streaming market is expanding quickly. “We have 500plus game streaming sites and content creators on our gaming platform who share videos from top games like Amongst Us and, GTA 5, Valorant, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), Free Fire MAX, Chess, Pikachu Unite, Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, Brawl Stars, FIFA 22, Minecraft, CS:GO, Forza, and Fortnite,” the Jio Games app description on the Google Play Store states. Users may also take in live feeds of prestigious esports competitions powered by Jio Games, where gamers, enthusiasts, and professional esports athletes from across the world compete.

The platform has set its eyes on empowering and enabling producers to go live, with any device, with minimal latency, and present the finest of their work to millions of viewers, according to a press statement from Jio. Users of the Jio Games Watch will be able to stream content on their Jio set-top box, Android smartphone, or iPhone due to the device’s cross-platform capability. Users will be able to stream in HD and FHD resolutions with regard to stream quality. 

The site will enable users to follow their favourite creators, who will then be able to interact with their users through eSports competitions. The game streaming service from one of India’s biggest telecom companies is still currently free for both users and content developers. Additionally, the JioGams app, which is accessible through the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, provides access to the service.
