Johnson & Johnson launches Stayfree Women for Change “Support a Woman” initiative

March 11, 2013: Johnson & Johnson has launched a new initiative on the women’s day, “Support a Woman” through Stayfree Women for Change movement. The Stayfree Women for Change gives a platform for the women to help the underprivileged women and make a difference to the society by empowering them. Women who want to participate in this initiative have to give a contribution of Rs.330/- through the website www.stayfreewomenforchange.com. They can even SMS “SUPPORT” to 56677. The contribution by these woman who participate in the “Support a Woman” initiative will be used to support better health and hygiene among the under privileged women of India.

It has been time and again reported that a large section of the Indian women are still underprivileged and suffer because of poor health and hygiene and Johnson & Johnson with this initiative is trying to address the long term socio economic impact of these issues. According to Neeraj Goyal, General Marketing Manager for Johnson & Johnson Women’s Health Franchise and Stayfree Women for Change, “We recognize the need to provide assistance and education to disassociated Indian women on health and also facilitate treatment of widely prevalent conditions such as Anemia.

As part of the corporate social responsibility and to bring about a change in the society, apart from providing free supply of Stayfree Sanitary Napkins for six months, Johnson & Johnson will be giving support to underprivileged girls and as well as women by assisting them in medical checkups, 3 month course of iron-folic acid etc. Women will be given 3 month course of calcium tablets as well.
