Rediffusion announced that Kaevan Umrigar has joined as Executive Creative Director in their Mumbai office. In a career crossing more than two decades, he has also worked with agreements and Everest.
Kaevan Umrigar has been both a film director and a writer and has worked with advertising agencies like Contract, Everest, and Dentsu Aegis on brands such as Cadbury, Hi design, IFB, BPL, Business Standard, Indian Navy, and Fair & Lovely. Rediffusion was a business that allocated radio and TV signals through wired relay networks.
The business encourages several other companies, including Associated-Rediffusion, later known as Rediffusion London, one of the first companies to win terrestrial (commercial television) permission in the UK. Rediffusion also reproduces a record tag. Rediffusion International Music, in 1968.
Redifon was the initial name till 1981 for companies in the capital goods businesses of Rediffusion like Redifon Computers, Redifon Flight Simulation, and Redifon Telecommunications.
His promotion for the launch of Cadbury Milk Treat won the inaugural Grand Effie in 2001 and his work has also been highlighted in Lurzer’s International records.
Kevin’s documentaries on the Parsi community have been displayed at various international film festivals and won a National Award. He has also co-written a book and several articles on Mumbai’s history and heritage.
Kalyani Srivastava, Executive Vice-President and Head of Rediffusion Mumbai, once said that Kaevan is a diverse personality with interests that go far off just advertising. He has a sense of humor that dwells on his has a sense of liveliness, happiness, and comfort that is not described. Adds Pramod Sharma, Rediffusion’s creative head of Mumbai, “Kaevan introduced various experiences and disclosure to our Mumbai creative team. He is a perfect team competitor with deep reservoirs of tolerance. I am expected to work with Kaevan”
