Hyderabad, 28th July, 2023: Kamineni Hospitals at LB Nagar, Hyderabad, commemorated World Hepatitis Day with an immensely successful initiative offering Free Liver Check-ups. The event, which took place on Friday, July 28, 2023, witnessed an overwhelming response as 700 individuals availed themselves of the Free Liver examinations.
As part of this benevolent effort, participants were provided with comprehensive liver screenings, including consultations with Senior Hepatologists, Hepatitis B & C tests, Blood Pressure (BP) checks, Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) assessments, and Fibroscan examinations. The objective behind these tests was not only to detect any potential liver diseases but also to raise awareness about liver health among the community. Following the tests, appropriate medication was prescribed to those in need.
Dr. Kavya Dendukuri, Lead Hepatologist at Kamineni Hospitals, LB Nagar, highlighted some significant findings, stating, “We are pleased to see that 70 percent of the individuals who took advantage of the free liver health check-ups were young or middle-aged. It is concerning to note that 65 percent of those tested exhibited signs of fatty liver, and almost all participants had co-existing conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, or other gastrointestinal diseases. As a part of their treatment, it is crucial for all of them to embrace healthier dietary habits and make positive lifestyle changes, in addition to the appropriate medications.”
