Kapil Sharma, a popular comedian and actor, will soon be seen in his first Netflix comedy special. Kapil Sharma revealed the news in a promotional video shared on social media by both himself and the streaming platform.

Kapil Sharma stated in the video that the comedy special will feature him in a different avatar. He went on to say that he would tell his story in his own unique style. “Let’s meet on January 28, on your Netflix screen with my first stand-up special Kapil Sharma: I’m Not Done Yet,” Kapil Sharma said in the video’s caption.

On its YouTube channel, Netflix has been actively promoting its newly launched show ‘Kapil Sharma: I’m not done yet.’ Over the last week, the streaming platform has pulled out all the stops, from interviews to music videos to fan events.

And for those wondering why Sharma took on this new job despite having a largely popular show on television, one of the promotional videos, ‘Kapil gets a new job,’ has an answer. Sharma begins the video by telling his manager that he wants to try something new.

As a result, he tries everything from a cooking show to being a tarot card reader, a magician, and even a rapper. Until the iconic Netflix ‘ta-dum’ inspires him to pitch a new idea to Netflix. During the weekend, the platform also hosted a live YouTube event titled ‘Bolti Hai Public, Ab Sunega Kapil’ for fans to virtually connect with the stand-up comedian.

The event, which was hosted by Kusha Kapila, also featured one of Sharma’s college professors. It pulled off an interesting role reversal last week when Kapil Sharma sat in the interviewee’s chair and answered questions posed by comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi.

After years of watching Sharma ask the questions, it was refreshing to see him field them for a change. Another intriguing collaboration was with Yashraj Mukhate, a music composer and social media celebrity who composed a special number for the show. BeingU Studios’ Akshit Lahoria and Gurjot Singh produce the show.

Kapil Sharma will join Indian stand-up comedians such as Vir Das, Kenneth Sebastian, Kanan Gill, and Amit Tandon in having specials on the streaming platform with this comedy special.
