Nissan has announced the hiring of Keerthi Prakash as Managing Director of Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd (RNAIPL), effective September 1, 2022. She will implement programs at the company’s Alliance plant in Chennai, India.
Keerthi joined the plant in 2008 and has over 20 years of experience in the automotive manufacturing industry. She is currently the Deputy Managing Director at RNAIPL. After four fruitful years as plant managing director, Biju Balendran decided to pursue opportunities outside of Nissan. He is supplanted by him
“I am pleased to announce Keerthi’s appointment as Managing Director of our Chennai plant,” said Frank Torres, President of Nissan India Operations. As a result of his comprehensive management and senior management positions within the plant since 2008, he has a wealth of production and engineering experience.
“I also want to salute Biju for his dedication to RNAIPL over his 14 years working at the laboratory. I wish him the best of luck in his future career since his contribution to RNAIPL’s transformation was essential.
After joining RNAIPL in 2008 as Bodyshop Manager, Keerthi was allowed to advance in 2010, becoming Senior Manager – Stamping, Body, Trim & Chassis Assembly. Mr. Prakash has a wealth of production and engineering experience, according to Nissan India Operations President Frank Torres, having held numerous management and senior management positions at the plant since 2008.
He returned to Chennai in 2021 after being promoted to Deputy Managing Director of Engineering, Quality Assurance, Production Control & Parts Arrangement. He took the award of Vice President – Vehicle Production & Plant Engineering in 2016, undertook a foreign assignment at Nissan’s headquarters in Japan, and afterward received the title of Vice President – Vehicle Production & Plant Engineering once more in 2021.
Keerthi will report to Roddy Macleod, Vice President of Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management for Africa, the Middle East, and India, in adding to Frank Torres, President of Nissan India Operations, in his new role. Nissan Motor, a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan’s Nissan Motor, was established in 2005 and offers products in the hatchback, SUV, and salon segments in India. Nissan and its global alliance partner Renault have a manufacturing plant and an R&D center near Chennai.
