Ketto and Femina Miss India Unite to Support Tribal Women’s Empowerment

Mumbai, September 15th, 2024 — Ketto, India’s crowdfunding platform joins hands with India’s most iconic and celebrated beauty pageant, Femina Miss India, to support the empowerment of tribal women across India. This partnership is dedicated to amplifying the efforts of Sanmat, an NGO that has been tirelessly working to uplifi marginalized communities through healthcare, education, and livelihood programs.s

Ketto’s involvement in this initiative is driven by our commitment to creating impactful social change. Through this partnership, we aim to bolster Sanmat’s mission, which has already made significant strides in improving the lives of tribal women. Over the past decade, Sanmat has provided ₹31 lakh worth of free medical services, focusing on maternal healthcare for women in remote areas. Their network of six hospitals across five states—Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal—serves around 36,000 individuals monthly, with a focus on women’s health.

In addition to healthcare, Sanmat has empowered over 1.5 lakh tribal girls and women through livelihood-linked skill development, enabling them to become financially independent. The organization runs free ITI and nursing colleges in Jharkhand and Bihar, making education accessible to those in need. Currently, Sanmat supports the tuition fees of over 200 girls from financially constrained families, ensuring they can continue their education. The NGO also provides monthly financial assistance to over 100 widows, helping them regain their dignity and meet their basic needs.
