Ketto Raises Over ₹10 Lakhs to Support Families of Victims in Reasi Terror Attack

A fundraising campaign on Ketto.org has raised ₹10 Lakhs to support the families of Vijay Kumar and Arjun, who tragically lost their lives in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district on June 9th. The campaign, initiated by the Hindu IT Cell, aims to gather ₹50,00,000 to provide financial assistance to bereaved families.

On that fateful evening, a bus carrying pilgrims to the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine was ambushed, resulting in the death of nine passengers, including Vijay Kumar, the bus driver, and Arjun, the conductor. Vijay Kumar, 37, a dedicated driver for over six years, leaves behind his wife, Renu, and two young children. His employer, Sujan Singh, described him as a “like family” man and a hero who likely steered the bus away from danger in his final moments. Tragically, Vijay’s family had already been struggling financially due to the recent death of his father.

Arjun, 19, had just joined the transport company a few days before the attack. He was the only brother to two sisters in a family already facing financial difficulties. His future was bright, but it was cut short by this senseless act of violence.

Varun Sheth, CEO & Co-Founder of Ketto.org, expressed his deep sympathy for the families and highlighted the importance of community support in times of crisis. “Our hearts go out to the families of Vijay and Arjun. This tragedy has left a deep scar, but the overwhelming support from people across the country shows that we stand united against such acts of terror. Ketto is committed to helping these families rebuild their lives, and we urge everyone to contribute and share this campaign.”

The funds raised will be equally divided between the families of Vijay Kumar and Arjun to help them navigate these challenging times and secure their futures.
