Hyderabad: KL Deemed to be University Hyderabad Campus organized special talks to mark National Science Day at the KLH, Aziz Nagar Campus. The event was honoured by esteemed guests who delivered a series of Expert talk sessions on some of the contemporary subject areas related to science and engineering. Among key speakers were Mr. Yogesh Murmukar- CEO, Bharat Software Solutions, Dr. N Anand-Scientist, CSIR, Dr.Yadagiri Rachuri – Abdullah University of Science & Technology, Saudi Arabia, Dr, J.Pundareekam Goud- Yeungnam University, Korea. The Departments of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, and FED of the KLH campus organized this virtual event to enable participants learn and explore the latest trends in the industry.
National Science Day is celebrated in India on 28 February each year to mark the discovery of the Raman effect by Indian physicist Sir C. V. Raman on 28 February 1928. In 1986, the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC) asked the Government of India to designate 28 February as National Science Day. The event is now celebrated all over India in schools, colleges, universities, and other academic, scientific, technical, medical, and research institutions.
Dr. G. P. Saradhi Varma, Vice-Chancellor, KL Deemed to be University, said, “Every year National Science Day is celebrated at the university with great enthusiasm by our students. The university aims to promote science culture, encourage scientific thinking among the students, and promote different areas of science by hosting regular workshops, webinars, scientists-student interactive sessions, debates, and various other science-related competitions on campus. The sessions presented an exciting and innovative discussion around the key topics that may transform learning experience for all participants.”
The event was conducted successfully in the presence of Dr. L Koteswara Rao, Principal, KLH Hyderabad Campus, convenor Dr. Pramoda Patro, faculty members and students.
KL Deemed to be University was established in 1980-81 as KL College of Engineering, which was upgraded to KL College of Engineering Autonomous in 2006 by UGC and declared a Deemed to be University in 2009 by UGC, MHRD Govt of India. In 2012 as a Deemed-to-be University, the institution was accredited by NAAC with an A Grade and later, in 2018, was re-accredited by NAAC with an A++ grade. In 2019 UGC and MHRD declared this institution as Category I Institution. KL, Deemed to be University, got Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Award – 2022. It is a prestigious award instituted in 2022 to commemorate various organizations’ efforts in Andhra Pradesh.
