Lava Mobiles announced the new range of Z smartphones. This smartphones have been conceptualized and manufactured in India in line with the ‘Design in India’ program that the government announced years ago. It is not exactly a comeback of Lava Mobiles but a firm declaration that the company exists and now wants to fight off the onslaught by Chinese rivals.
Lava Mobiles has launched Z1, Z2, Z4, Z6 smartphones in India, distributed across different price ranges. But aside from the default features, Lava Mobiles allows users the option to configure their smartphones with new software called My Z. This new program would allow consumers to pick and drop the specification on their handset as per their choice on select devices only.
Lava’s new ‘Made-to-Order’ smartphone concept would let you pick between 2GB, 3GB, 4GB, or 6GB of RAM and combine it with 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB of ROM in a variation of your choosing. You can also choose either a dual (13+2MP) or a triple rear camera (13+5+2MP), an 8MP, or a 16MP selfie camera. You may also use the color of your choice, your variant of the Lava Z series. Lava has also introduced Z Up which helps you to update your phone with more RAM and storage for an incremental price without having to replace your phone. The Z Up software will only be available on smartphones Z2, Z4, and Z6.
The Lava Z1 costs Rs 5,499, the Z2 costs Rs 6,999, the Z4 costs Rs 8,999, and eventually the Z6 costs Rs 9,999. The first sale will begin on January 11th, where you will be able to buy Z2, Z4, Z6, and MyZ smartphones. Lava Z1 and Z Up will be available as of 26 January. All-new gadgets can be bought from the Lava retail store, physical retailers, online and offline outlets.
Lava has introduced a new workout band named Befit for Rs 2,699. The band provides temperature tracking, heart rate monitoring, SpO2 calculation tool, call service, SMS, email & social media applications. The auto-sleep functionality is also available.
