The company is known for its innovative initiatives and one such initiative is ‘Kar Salaam’. LG recently launched this initiative before Republic Day. The objective of this initiative is to support the Armed Forces by donating a certain amount to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund (AFFDF). This fund was formed win an aim to serve the welfare and rehabilitation needs of ex-servicemen and for the families of the Armed Forces. The funding is done under the nodal government organization called Kendriya Sainik Board Secretariat (KSB SECTT).
LG Electronics is well known for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and the company has launched many CSR initiatives to help the communities in all aspects and reiterate its commitment towards the people. The pandemic has made many companies across the world suffer and during this situation, LG Electronics came forward to support the soldiers. The contribution of the company to the Armed Forces will help the families of soldiers. LG, to increase the contribution to the Armed Forces, is planning to conduct an awareness drive to request people to support the soldiers by contributing to the fund. The company will also be using radio and digital campaigns to increase its reach and make everyone know about the initiative. The awareness campaign that is to be launched by LG, is expected to run at 7000 retail stores across India.
There is a need for such initiatives in our country and Kar Salaam is expected to bring awareness among the people and increase the contribution which will help in the welfare of war widows and children of martyrs, war disabled soldiers. LG has been contributing to the fund for the past 3 years and their earlier contribution has helped in supporting the education of girl child. The initiatives like this will help in bringing a change in society.
