Hoshiarpur (Punjab) October 23rd, 2024: Liberty General Insurance, one of India’s leading non-life insurers, has collaborated with Maruti Suzuki Insurance Broking to promote insurance awareness across the Gram Panchayats of Punjab under the ‘Bima Prachaar Aur Prasaar’ initiative, while also driving insurance penetration in Delhi. This collaboration aligns with the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India’s (IRDAI) mission of ‘Insurance for All by 2047’, focusing on increasing insurance awareness in rural regions.

As the lead non-life insurer for Delhi, Liberty General Insurance continues to spearhead similar awareness campaigns in the capital. However, recognizing that Gram Panchayats do not exist in urban Delhi, Liberty has launched its rural outreach efforts in Punjab. This initiative is designed to ensure that the benefits of insurance reach underpenetratedux regions.

The first event under this initiative was organized yesterday at Mukerian Panchayat, Hoshiarpur, Punjab. During the awareness program, free vehicle inspections and health check-ups were arranged for local residents, and the event received an overwhelming response from the community. Residents were also educated about the critical role insurance plays in securing their assets and health against unforeseen risks.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Anurag Rampal, Senior Vice President and National Head – Central Distribution and Marketing Team, Liberty General Insurance said, “Our partnership with Maruti Suzuki Insurance Broking is a vital step in our mission to raise insurance awareness in rural areas. By engaging with communities in Punjab’s Gram Panchayats, we are empowering individuals with the knowledge they need to protect their financial futures. We look forward to expanding these joint efforts to Delhi and beyond.”

This event marks the beginning of a broader campaign aimed at promoting insurance awareness and accessibility across rural areas. Liberty General Insurance remains committed to supporting IRDAI’s vision of insurance coverage for all citizens by 2047.
