August 20, 2013: ‘Catch them Young’ is the mantra which most of the organisations worldwide are now following. In its pursuit to attract a younger membership base LinkedIn Corp which has got its own quite popular professional social networking site, LinkedIn would from now on be allowing people above 13 years of age to open account with them. Earlier the minimum age to open a LinkedIn account varied from 14 to 18 years according to the country. If it was 14 in United States, it was 18 in China.

The new change which will come into effect from 12th September will be a major leap to attract young members after introducing a new feature called the University Pages. University Pages allows students, schools and alumni to connect on this social networking site. Nearly more than 200 universities worldwide have adopted this new tool after its introduction.

Young members above the age of 13 will have different privacy setting when compared to members above the age group of 18.
