May 8, 2013: Mahindra which leads the Indian pick up market with 54 per cent market share in FY 2012-13 launched its Bolero utility vehicle, Mahindra Bolero Maxi Truck Plus. Launch of this Mahindra’s small commercial vehicle concurs with the recent report by Society of India Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) which stated that there is tremendous demand for four wheeler small commercial vehicles. In the words of Pravin Shah, Chief Executive, Mahindra and Mahindra Automotive Division during the launch, “We have continuously updated and evolved our products to deliver greater value to our customers while retaining the basic tough and rugged DNA associated with Mahindra vehicles.”
Mahindra Bolero Maxi Truck Plus which is powered by 2,523 cc common rail diesel engine has been launched in BSIII and BS IV versions. The diesel engine has got ample power which develops 63 PS of power and 195 Nm of Torque. Bolero Maxi Truck Plus has got dual tone interiors and can carry a maximum payload of 1,150 kg. The vehicle which gives ARAI claimed mileage of 17.7 kmpl is surely going to give better return on investment for the owners.
Mahindra has designed this vehicle as the last mile connectivity vehicle. Increased pay load and more mileage will give it more practicality than the three wheeled competitors. This would help the owners to cut down on their trips. The vehicle which promises better driveability and less maintenance cost is priced at Rs.4.33 lakh (ex showroom) for BS III and Rs.4.43 lakh (ex-showroom) for BS IV version.
