Mahindra Thar’s first unit was sold in an auction at a stunning price of 1.10 crore, to Akash Minda from Delhi. The vehicle was officially released on 2 October. The business organized the auction with the intention of providing relief funds to combat COVID-19.
Mahindra introduced the brand new Thar 2020 second-generation, after a long wait for SUV enthusiasts. Mahindra announced the price of SUV in India with all of the information of Thar 2020 already in the public domain. On 15 August the offroader was unveiled, and all of the information and characteristics of the SUV, excluding the price, were already disclosed. Not only was the price of Thar shown, but after the launch, Mahindra also began making reservations for the SUV.
Prices for the variants of Mahindra Thar AX begins at 9.8 lakh and goes up to 12.2 lakh, all ex-showroom rates.
Luxury LX-focused model prices start from Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 12.95 lakh for the hard-top convertible petrol variant. Mahindra Thar’s first unit was sold to a whopping 1.10 crore auction to the winner, Akash Minda.
Both the latest externals and interior are included in the current Thar 2020. The SUV will be fitted with a six-speed manual and automatic transmission with BSVI petrol and diesel powertrains. Unlike the two trim options announced earlier, Thar2020 will be available in three trims.

The 2.2-litre engine would power the diesel models while the petrol trimming systems would supply the all-new 2-litre drive train. The diesel engine produces 120 HP of power, however, the Thar petrol has a power of 150 HP.
The new Thar is fitted with a hardtop, an optional soft top, and a first-class convertible top. New seating options are also available: — 4 front façades and 2 plus 4 side façades.
The petrol engine with a mHawk diesel engine is offered by Mahindra Thar for the first time. The delivery is expected to begin at the end of October at Mahindra Thar 2020.
