On Monday, Mahindra unveiled the NuvoSport that is priced at Rs 7.35 lakh onwards for the base N4 variant. The prices extent up to Rs 9.76 lakh for the high-end N8 variant that has a five speed AMT. The NuvoSport is the third offering from the SUV manufacturer in the sub 4 meter category. The others in this category are TUV300 and KUV100.

Mahindra NuvoSport replaces Quanto that was not too successful and the manufacturer hopes that the latest offering will be successful as it has an appealing design, new chassis, suspension and engine.

The Mahindra NuvoSport is better than the Quanto in terms of looks, especially the front is distinctive with a SUV like stance. The Quanto is too similar to Xylo that is for the customers who want a compact SUV. The NuvoSport is more modern and sporty with unique design of the LED DRLs that are located above the headlights. The sides do not seem to be too impressive. The rear is almost identical to the Quanto with the curvy design and tall lights as well as spare wheel cover.

The vehicle is powered by a three-cylinder diesel engine called mHAWK 100 that is similar to the engine in the TUV300. But it can render 100 PS of power instead of 80 PS. Mahindra claims that the torque that the engine can produce is the best in its class as it is 240 Nm. The high end N6 and N8 models let the users choose between a 5 speed manual gearbox in the N4 and a 5 speed AMT.

For now, Mahindra has launched only the diesel model of the NuvoSport and a petrol variant is likely to be launched soon. The vehicle is claimed to have an efficiency of 17.45 kmpl and it can hold 60 litres of fuel.

The NuvoSport will arrive in three variants – N4, N6, and N8. The N4 will have dual airbags, ABS and EBD as an option. The high end N6 and N8 models have these features as standard ones.
