July 28, 2012: Mahindra & Mahindra is planning to develop a small car on the Logan platform, which was inherited from their former partner, Renault. The company recently launched Verito, the Logan’s rechristened version this week.
The company sources feel that they will gain development cost by deriving new cars from an existing platform rather than building them from scratch. Maruti had successfully used this strategy to roll out Dzire and Ertiga models from their Swift platform.
