New Delhi, 19th September 2023 – Makoons Play School, a renowned institution in early childhood education, celebrated Ganesh Chathurthi across all its branches. The festive spirit instilled the importance of cultural enrichment and holistic development. The school’s aimed to celebrate Ganesh Chathurthi and embrace the colourful and educational aspect of the festival as students and staff came together to honour Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and symbol of new beginnings. The event took place on September 20, 2023, on the respective playgrounds of the Makoons Play School. A great spirit of ethnic pride, excitement, and knowledge shaped the festivity. 

Ganesh Chathurthi, a significant Hindu festival, is a time of adoration, dedication, and joy. On this auspicious day, Makoons Play School had the chance to encompass young minds to the rich cultural traditions of India and instill virtue like respect, gratitude and environmental awareness.

The highlights of Ganesh Chathurthi were as follows: Eco-Friendly Ganesha Idols: The students made their own clay Ganesha idols to start the celebration off in an original and environmentally responsible way. By avoiding non-recyclable materials, Students learnt the value of environmental protection.

Ganesh Aarti and Bhajans: The school echoed with melodious bhajans and devotional songs, evoking a sense of reverence and spirituality. During the Ganesha aarti, students, teachers and parents prayed to Lord Ganesha for wisdom and prosperity.

Storytelling and Moral Lessons: Storytelling sessions were a vital part of the celebration which conveyed the tales and symbolism behind Lord Ganesha’s unique appearance and his role in Hindu mythology. Students learned the value of humility, determination, and knowledge from these stories.

The school arranged a podium as the festival’s centrepiece, for children to place the Eco-friendly Lord Ganesha idols. Parents and teachers joined the children in a parade as they carried their eco-friendly Ganesha statues to the podium.
